Tour Package In Cambodia

Experience the beauty of Cambodia’s religious monuments and countryside from a different perspective as you cycle your way around the Siem Reap province. As the former capital of the ancient Khmer Empire, this area is filled with hundreds of temples set amongst rice fields and small villages. Traveling by bike is the best way to see the grandeur of this country’s unique cultural heritage.
Start at the main temples of Angkor, where your expert guide will help unlock the mystery behind these ruins. Cycling amongst the temples gives you a unique perspective of these magnificent buildings. Traverse shady, paved roads and catch glimpses of stone walls and temples peeking out from behind the trees stopping along the way to explore. The highlight of any journey to Cambodia is the imposing Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture. Nearby the jungle-covered Ta Phrom and mysterious Bayon reflect the diversity of the temple construction.
Venture outside of the main archeological park to discover small villages and traditional Khmer houses as you cycle out to Banteay Srei and Beng Melea. The intricate detailing that surrounds Banteay Srei’s walls is a magnificent spectacle that has been preserved in near perfect condition, whist Beng Melea lies hidden amongst strangler figs and dense forest.
Your final day of cycling, head to the Rolous Group, a set of three temples that pre-date Angkor Wat. These stone towers are built in a completely different style from most of the other temples in the area, and are the oldest in the region. Continue to Tonle Sap, largest freshwater lake, and embark on a boat trip amongst the traditional floating villages of this unique area for a picnic lunch.
This unforgettable trip explores the natural and historical wonders of the country as you pedal through Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor.

The meandering Tonle Sap River serves as a lifeline to Cambodia’s people, many of whom have even taken to living aboard its waters in floating villages. Literally translated to mean Large Freshwater River, Tonle Sap is indeed that; in fact, it is the largest body of fresh water in Southeast Asia and its size quadruples in the wet season when much of the surrounding area floods.
This river and adjoining lake are home to some of the most important sites in all of the country, and Exotissimo have specifically designed this tour to let you enjoy the serenity of this calm river, whilst sleeping in luxurious comfort on board the boat. Over a period of three days you will be introduced to some of the most unforgettable parts of the region, making this one of our favourite Cambodian experiences.
First up, you will get to see the capital of Cambodia between the years 1618 and 1866, Oudong. Much of the town suffered from American bombing raids during the 60s but a set of 509 steps survive, leading up the famed hill to a temple and fantastic views across the surrounding area.
After seeing or even buying some of the wonderful silverware that the region produces, the cruise continues to Kompong Chhnang. This community takes its name from the earthenware pots it makes and provides a beautiful site of stilted houses set amid flood plains that fill up during the wet season, providing the town with an abundance of fish, for which it is now famous.
Here, the river joins with the lake of the same name and you will get to see the intriguing villages scattered about its canal system. This tour will include the largest of them all, Kompong Luong, before your final night on board the boat and disembarkation from what we are sure will be an unforgettable trip.

The Angkorian empire that ruled Cambodia until the 14th century left an indelible mark on the culture and beliefs of the country. Our ‘Culture and Cuisine’ tour takes you on an insightful journey to explore the legacies of a bygone era as well as the modern glory of Cambodia. With expert guides, exotic cuisine, and luxurious hotels you will be amazed at the, often unexpected, wonders along the way.
Arrive in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, and indulge in a traditional massage to ease the effects of jet-lag. Be introduced to the local cuisine with a welcome dinner at one of the city’s outstanding restaurants before retiring to your luxury hotel for the evening.
Take a walking tour of the capital’s modern architecture which reflects the culturally and politically vibrant era of the mid-1900s. Visit the city’s palace and museum before enjoying an entertaining and enriching traditional performance of shadow puppetry and dance.
Travel to Siem Reap, the former capital of the once-mighty Angkorian Empire and home to the magnificent temples built by the ancient Khmer kings. Over three days, you will explore these architectural wonders and unlock the mystery behind their construction and meaning.
During your time in Siem Reap, further immerse yourself in Cambodian culture with a visit to the Kampong Phluck floating village and with a private tour of the Angkor National Museum. Try your hand at Khmer cooking with a half day culinary tour, visiting markets, learning about local ingredients, and preparing traditional dishes. Venture out to the countryside to experience the local lifestyle and the techniques used to make Cambodia’s fine silks and feast on delicious meals of international and local cuisines.
From the tables to the temples, this journey is one of discovery as you explore the splendor of Cambodia. With specialist guides, remarkable hotels, and unique excursions, Exotissimo’s ‘Culture and Cuisine’ tour is a memorable adventure.

Updated News On Preah Vihear Conflict Sunday 22 August 2010

This post is one of the series posts of Updated News On Preah Vihear Conflict. We will look in details of the position of Cambodia, Thailand, Asean and UN on the Preah Vihear conflict.
Cambodia
We have waited for such long time since Thailand has sent troops to Preah Vihear temple area on July 2008. Cambodian government complained about Thailand not to take action after each meeting. Followed the letter sent by PM Hun Sen to the UN, FM Hor Namhong appealed to the 10-member Asean for help, in order to avoid any large scale armed conflict.Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Thursday he wants U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to help solve a prolonged border row between Cambodia and Thailand when the U.N. chief visits the region later this year.
Cambodian government didn’t see any result after meeting with Thailand. The best way to end this conflict is to ask UN and Asean to get involved and force Thailand to decide what is “YES” and what is “NO”, on which map we should start to work on, absolutely not the map that Thailand draw on their own.
Thailand
There’s no stable position or sources to clarify the position of Thailand government to end the conflict. So far, we have 3 meetings of Joint Boundary Committee (JBC), those results never have been approved by the Thai Parliament. What will be the reason we continue the meeting if those previous three meetings never been taken seriously by Thailand government? What we have seen clearly is that Thailand doesn’t want Asean or UN to interfere into Preah Vihear conflict. They still want to use Preah Vihear as a political reason to maintain political crisis in Thailand.
Asean
So far, we didn’t see any good reply from Asean yet. Surin Pitsuwan, the secretary-general of ASEAN, has metPM Hun Sen on 16 Auguest 2010. Surin said it’s possible that there’s meeting between PM Abhisit Vejjajiva and PM Hun Sen in Brussels in October this year. But to my own opinion as long as the result from previous meetings didn’t get approval from Thai Parliament, it’s useless to have meeting. But it’s good to see ASEAN members are holding talks on a request from Cambodia for help in resolving a deadly border dispute with Thailand, the bloc’s chairman said on Tuesday 17 August 201.
“As ASEAN chair, Vietnam is actively consulting other ASEAN countries about the proposal that ASEAN mediates over the Preah Vihear dispute,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga said in a statement.
UN
Reply to the call by Cambodian PM Hun Sen, FARHAN HAQ, ACTING DEPUTY SPOKESPERSON FOR THE SECRETARY-GENERAL has issued a statement on Friday, August 20, 2010 mentioned that SECRETARY-GENERAL HOPES CAMBODIA AND THAILAND WILL RESOLVE BORDER DISPUTE THROUGH DIALOGUE: In response to a question, the Spokesperson said that the Secretary-General hopes that Cambodia and Thailand will resolve the dispute along their border amicably through dialogue. He stands ready to help the parties. Conclusion
As we could see that there’s no result after talking with Thailand, a call to ASEAN and UN is the right thing to do. ASEAN and UN need to force Thailand to table and show them which one is the right map to work on and finish this conflict peacefully. Otherwise the game of words will continue, the charging position from left to right, upside down will be used by the Thai government.Amazing Video Of Busy Traffic In Phnom Penh

Title: Dogora:Ouvrons les yeux/Open your eyes
Director: Patrice Leconte/France/2004
Music: Etienne Perruchon
Genre: Documentary
Director Patrice Leconte weaves an impressionistic, sensorial tapestry of existence in and around early 21st-century Cambodia. Journeying through the country’s farmlands, factories, streets and rural villages, camera-in-hand, Leconte glimpses the people and the elements of the landscape that make Cambodia so culturally specific, and gently contrasts modes of life found there.
I heard about this film documentary few years ago. Never have chance to watch it. But I saw the DVD is available to purchase in the market. Check out this short clip of the documentary, it’s an amazing video. Please note that the film was made since 2004.
